Some important features of the monel 400 round bars include its resistance to seawater and steam at high temperatures, its excellent resistance to rapidly flowing brackish water, and its excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking in most freshwaters. Besides this, b164 uns n04400 is particularly resistant to de-aerated halogen-based acids like hydrochloric and hydrofluoric acids. It has excellent resistance to neutral and alkaline-based salts & it is highly resistant to alkalis.
In fact, Alloy 400 round bar is practically immune to chloride-related ion stress corrosion cracking in typical environments. Although its corrosion resistance is very good in reductive environments, it is considered to be poor in oxidative conditions. The b164 uns n04400 Bar is not useful in oxidative acid environments, such as nitric acid and nitrous.
