Three hundred forty-seven have very good mechanical properties, which also results in being useful in high-temperature environments.

Alloy 347 Sheet Plate and Coil maintains stainless steel and plates and provides many benefits such as outstanding resistance to intergranular corrosion by temperature exposure in chromium carbide rapidity ranges up to 816℃. Alloys 347 Sheets are composed of Chromium, Nickel, Carbon, Manganese, Phosphorus, Sulfur, Silicon and Iron. Three hundred forty-seven sheets of steel also have the addition of columbium and tantalum. Hence, 347 is also referred to as Columbium Steel.

SS 347 Sheets cannot be durable by the heat treating method. They can only get hard from cold working conditions. However, the standard manufacturing processes easily machine these 347 Plates. They have received shapes and sizes depending upon national as well as international standards of raw materials. These 347 plates of steel are also popularly called UNS S34700. Alloy 347 also offers higher stress and creep-rupture properties than alloy 304 and especially Alloy 304L.
