Alloy 310 Buttweld Fitting is austenitic stainless steel known as UNS S31000, is developed to be used as corrosion resistance in many applications at cryogenic or elevated temperatures. The suitable temperature of the following grade should not fall below 1100ºC to maintain oxidation resistance. Alloy 310 has a chemical composition of chromium in the range of 24-26%, nickel up to 22%, manganese 2%, and other chemicals less than 1%, including 0.25% carbon. Alloy 310 is a high carbon content alloy used moderately as well as extensively in carbide atmospheres. Alloy 310 generally preferred across slight oxidizing, nitriding, cementing and thermal cycling applications due to its low magnetic permeability and toughness. On the other hand, 310S is a low carbon content alloy mainly used for fabricability and shows fantastic welding properties. Therefore, the annealing treatment should be taken off for both grades in the range of 1100-1150ºC.
